  • The semi-animated music video is titled “From The D 2 The LBC” and features Bored Apes #9055 and #6723.
  • Snoop Dogg and Eminem are NFT enthusiasts, and they own Bored Apes #6723 and #9055, respectively.
  • The rappers used the NFTs because Yuga Labs grants BAYC holders IP and commercialization rights.

American Hip Hop artists Snoop Dogg and Eminem have released a new music video in which they morph into characters from Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), a popular non-fungible token (NFT) collection. Eminem – who officially goes by Marshall Bruce Mathers III – tweeted a cover art for the track “From The D 2 The LBC” which features Snoop Dogg.

His tweet read,

Took too long to reconnect with @snoopdogg – you know we had to make a movie! Eminem.lnk.to/FromTheD2TheLBC #FromTheDToTheLBC #curtaincall2 @BoredApeYC

He then proceeded to post a 28-second snippet of the music video, adding,

The D ➡️✈️ LBC – watch the movie 🍿🎥 @snoopdogg @BoredApeYC #curtaincall2 Eminem.lnk.to/FromTheD2TheLBeD2TheLBC/youtube”

Snoop Dogg and Eminem are NFT lovers

It is worth noting that both Eminem and Snoop Dogg are NFT enthusiasts that hold Bored Apes. Slim Shady bought Bored Ape #9055 for $462,000 at the start of the year. The NFT features white fur, a khaki army hat, and Hip Hop clothes, among other traits. Eminem currently uses the NFT as his Twitter profile picture.

Snoop Dogg is heavily vested in NFTs. The legendary rapper recently revealed that he was the person behind pseudonymous NFT collector Cozomo de’ Medici. At the time of the disclosure, Medici had amassed NFTs worth $17.6 million.

Snoop Dogg owns Bored Ape #6723, which he nicknamed Dr. Bombay. The Bored Ape features cheetah fur, a Vietnam-era helmet, a bored cigar, and a pimp coat, among other traits.

Being the BAYC representations of Eminem and Snoop Dogg, Bored Apes #9055 and #6723 are featured in the “From The D 2 The LBC” music video.

The commercialization of Bored Apes continues

Snoop Dogg and Eminem got to use the avatars of their Bored Apes in the video because Yuga Labs, the company behind the BAYC collection, offers holders IP and commercialization rights. In so doing, the company encourages Bored Ape holders to integrate their NFTs into physical projects across the globe.

Snoop Dogg has been keen on using Dr. Bombay for real-world projects. Before the music video, the rapper teamed up with Food Fighters Universe to launch Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration, a retail dessert experience based on his Bored Ape.

The founders of Food Fighters Universe also used their Bored Apes to launch a Bored & Hungry, the world’s first Bored Ape NFT-themed restaurant.
