MetaMask has announced support for the Floki Inu domain extension that was launched in June 2024.

SPACE ID Web3 Domain Snap, a modular extension for MetaMask, makes the integration possible for seamless interaction with various Web3 domain services.

Floki Inu Key Integration Features and How it Works

The integration between Floki Inu and Metamask offers three key features: simplified transactions, cross-chain security, and enhanced security.

Instead of using complex alphanumeric characters, users can now send funds directly to .floki domain names within the MetaMask interface.

Furthermore, with the help of the Floki domains, users can work across multiple EVM-compatible chains, enhancing interoperability.

Finally, the use of human-readable domain names reduces the risk of errors during fund transfers.

Users that want to take advantage of the integration can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Floki Name Service Platform to register a Floki domain.
  2. Integrate the domain into MetaMask using the SPACE ID Web3 Domain Snap.
  3. After its setup, send and receive funds using their .floki domain name.

Pricing and MetaMask’s Grand Scheme

The pricing per year caters to a wide range of users, starting from $4.28 to $176.49:

  • $4.28/16,000 FLOKI per year—5+ characters
  • $42.79/160,000 FLOKI per year—4 characters
  • $176.49/660,000 FLOKI per year—3 characters

The aim of the pricing is to create a balance between accessibility and the scarcity value of shorter, more desirable domain names.

Besides its integration with Floki Inu, MetaMask has been working on improving user experience and expanding its capabilities. For example, recent developments include the profile sync feature, multiple secret recovery phrases, and upcoming native support for Bitcoin and Solana.

This integration advances MetaMask’s aim by bridging the gap between sophisticated wallet addresses and simple domain names, thereby addressing one of the key barriers to cryptocurrency adoption.
