During a livestream on X on Monday evening, the former US president Donald Trump formally launched his family crypto business, World Liberty Financial. Last week, Trump had asked his supporters to join the livestream for the launch describing his plan to stop the big banks with crypto.
However, during the livestream he did not speak much about World Liberty Financial, keeping it more about making the US the crypto capital of the world. Trump also discussed the second assasination attempt. On Sunday, a gunman was caught from the Ocean Front resort in Florida where the former US president was playing Golf.
Explaining why it is important to focus on these evolving technologies, crypto in particular, Trump said: “If we don’t do it, China is going to do it. China is doing it anyway. But if we don’t do it, we’re not going to be the biggest, and we have to be the biggest and the best.”
No Clarity On World Liberty Financial
After the live stream that started at 8:00 pm eastern time, many crypto enthusiasts and Trump supporters had been expecting the former president to reveal further details about his project.
However, to their disappointment there was nothing new shared by the presidential candidate apart from what we already know about the project. The entire live talk was more about his campaign and taking political jibes at the Biden administration.
Trump has been pushing hard to get support from the crypto community. However, his project the World Liberty Financial has been under severe criticism for not being “detailed.”
Following the launch event on X spaces, there has been no further update about the details of the project in the official Telegram group.
Prior to the lunch event, WLFI (announced a new member joining their team as an advisor. In a post on X, WLFI said they now have Sandy PenG, Co-founder of Scroll, one of the largest L2 for scaling Ethereum as their advisor.
