The fact that global corporations like Meta, Amazon, and Google have so much control over user data has plagued many. To help mitigate the issue, the Cirus Foundation launched a Google Chrome extension, allowing people worldwide to manage and monetize their data themselves. You can get the first version of the Cirus extension from the Chrome Web Store right now. It makes basic monetization and data sharing possible. You simply activate the earning feature in the settings of the extension and give it access to your location data.
Cirus’ future plans
Moving forward, a router will make it possible to collect and monetize data from any device equipped with internet access. The next version of the product will involve a so-called Data Vault, enabling more granular control of data sharing.
Users of Microsoft Edge and Firefox will have access to it as well. It will grow Cirus’ reach and push forward its ultimate goal to grant data ownership to individual users.
