Semler Scientific, a healthcare technology firm listed on NASDAQ, has expanded its bitcoin holding to 2,321. This comes after purchasing 237 BTC over four days. The firm disclosed the purchase in a press release stating that the Bitcoin was acquired for $23.3 million.
Semler Scientific purchased the Bitcoin at an average price of $98,267, using an at-the-market (ATM) offering. Based on the recent purchase, Semler Scientific’s 2,321 BTC holdings are priced to be acquired at an aggregate of $191.9 million, with an average price of $82,687 per bitcoin, including fees and expenses. These assets are now approximately worth $223 million at current market prices.
Selmar Scientific BTC Yield Jumps From 72 to 99.3% Following Latest Bitcoin Purchase
Selmar Scientific chairman Eric Selmar shared the latest purchase on X. He stated how the firm had achieved a 99.3% yield using a unique BTC treasury strategy.
The firm reported a 72% yield from its bitcoin holdings calculated from October 1, 2024, and January 10, 2025. Since the healthcare firm adopted the BTC treasury strategy last July, the company now earns 99.3% on its Bitcoin holdings. The company uses the BTC yield as a metric for Selmar’s stock investors to track the profitability of the bitcoin investments. Since the press release, Semler’s stock ($SLMR) has risen from $49 to $54, representing a 10% gain in 5 days, per data from Google Finance.
