As Solana-based memecoin Moo Deng (MOODENG) continues to experience huge gains, crypto buzz is not isolated to this new hippo-inspired token. Also seeing renewed interest is dog-themed coin Poodlana (POODL).
The viral MOODENG meme coin saw its price rise sharply to hit above $0.162, with this a more than 40% rebound in 24 hours. Moo Deng had reached lows of $0.1042 on Oct. 7. Meanwhile, POODL hovered around $0.004, down 3% in 24 hours and struggled for upside amid a broader market weakness.
However, with the Hermès of Crypto Poodlana continuing to attract attention as a unique Solana meme coin, could POODL be the meme coin to watch?
Cryptocurrencies falter after BTC dip to $62k
Cryptocurrency have largely traded sideways after initial “Uptober” spike. The investor upbeat mood that followed the U.S. Federal Reserve’s interest rate cut faded as geopolitical events in the Middle East cast uncertainty across the markets, including crypto.
As Bitcoin hovers near $62k amid HBO’s documentary on the identity of BTC creator Satoshi Nakamoto, the altcoin market is seeing no better in terms of upside movement. Ethereum, Solana, BNB and XRP have shed recent gains.
Elsewhere, most Solana memecoins, including dogwifhat, Bonk and Popcat have also pared recent gains.
But that has not been the case with MOODENG, the meme coin inspired by a Thailand hippo that’s gone viral across the globe.
Moo Deng: Hippo meme coin shines
After Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin sold 10 billion MOODENG tokens, donating over $640,000 of the proceeds to charity, the price of the meme coin fell sharply. However, the token saw substantial upside pressure to rise from lows around $0.10 to above $0.162.
Moo Deng has a market cap of over $146 million and has flipped cat in a dogs world and Popcat in terms of 24-hour volume. As the buzz around Mood Deng continues, its likely speculation could drive the meme coin higher.
Poodlana price: Could dog-themed POODL outpace MOODENG?
The Poodlana presale is one of the top token sales in the Solana ecosystem, with the project storming to a total of $8 million raised in 30 days. A poodle-inspired canine meme focused on fashion and luxury saw viral adoption in Asia before catching on across the world.
Milestones such the immediate listing on Raydium and subsequent launch on top crypto exchanges MEXC and BingX helped imbue confidence in the community. Poodlana has also attracted attention for its tokenomics, roadmap and features such as staking. Airdrops and bonuses are also part of the focus on community.
While POODL price has dropped significantly from highs near $0.04, the token is seeing decent activity and bulls may look at current levels around $0.0038 as a buy opportunity.
