  • Dubbed DeepRedSky, the marketplace listed the Official CryptoTrump Club collection at launch.
  • DeepRedSky seeks to connect fans, collectors, creators, and brands that share Parler’s values.
  • The marketplace currently accepts Debit card payments but plans to start accepting crypto.

Controversial social media platform Parler, which touts itself as a Twitter alternative that allows free speech, has rolled out an NFT marketplace on Solana. The company revealed this news through a press release on March 1, noting that its marketplace is dubbed DeepRedSky.

According to the company, its premium marketplace features an engaging and intuitive design to help connect fans, collectors, creators, and brands that share its values of freedom of expression and protection from Big Tech, Big Media, and Big Government.

The first collection on the marketplace is dubbed Official CryptoTrump Club and is dedicated to former US President Donald Trump. Reportedly, this collection comprises 10,000 NFTs featuring unique pictures of Trump in different settings. Out of the 10,000 digital collectibles, 250 are allegedly extremely rare NFTs.

Despite Official CryptoTrump Club being the inaugural collection on DeepRedSky, Parler CTO Sam Lipoff claimed the platform intends to move past politics.

He said,

I would say to be quite honest, the Parler site today is very heavily political. And you know, if that’s the way it is, that’s fine. But I think, beginning in the next few months, you’ll see a variety of NFTs that we would call both partisan and non-partisan, and we hope that diversifies the audience a little bit.

Plans to dive deeper into web3

Commenting on the launch of DeepRedSky, Parler CEO George Farmer said,

As promised, Parler is launching its inaugural NFT marketplace that will become the new standard in premium branded NFTs.

Parler, which is popular among US conservatives, noted that this launch aligns with its mission to be a web3 frontrunner. At the moment, DeepRedSky offers creator-to-peer NFTs with different rarity levels. To ensure users have a wholesome experience, the marketplace seeks to offer auctions, pack and drops, gumball machine schemas, and instant buys.

However, it is worth noting that collectors on the marketplace will have to pay using Debit cards, seeing as crypto is not yet a payment option on the platform. Upon paying, collectors will get the purchased NFTs through any wallet on the Solana blockchain.

In the announcement, Parler said DeepRedSky seeks to introduce features like gamification and crypto payments, among other groundbreaking marketplace functionalities. On top of this, Parler said it is working on integrating the marketplace with its social platform to offer users a seamless experience.

This news comes after Parler first got involved with NFTs last year after former US First Lady Melania Trump launched a Parler-powered NFT platform on Solana.
