- The next steps for the Mines of Dalarnia team include launching a marketplace and mobile version of the game.
Mines of Dalarnia, a free-to-play action-adventure blockchain game, has been launched on the BNB Chain. A press release revealed this news on April 26, noting that the launch came with a token and non-fungible token (NFT) giveaway for testnet players.
Created by a blockchain infrastructure platform Chromia and video game developer WorkinMan Interactive, the game, specifically, seeks to distribute up to $40,000 worth of its native in-game token, DAR, and hundreds of NFTs.
According to the news release, the Mines of Dalarnia launched with over 90,000 registered monthly players, which it amassed during the testnet launch. These players have engaged in more than 600,000 mining sessions in 2021 alone.
Apart from this, the secondary sales of in-game virtual plots have already exceeded $1 million. The game offered 4,160 lots of virtual land to the public, and they sold out in three events.
Mines of Dalarnia celebrated unlocking this achievement on Twitter, saying,
🥳 The wait is finally over! Now you can play the Mainnet version of the Mines of Dalarnia. Head to our website: minesofdalarnia.com. We hope you are as excited as we are to explore the Dalarnian World! 💪
Rewarding people for doing what they love
Apart from the free-to-play version, Mines of Dalarnia feature a Play-to-Earn (P2E) option, which is available for players and mining plot owners. Landowners will generate revenue by renting their plots out to miners/players.
On the other hand, players will get to mine the depths of the plots of land they rent and collect resources needed to power their gear and the Terraforming Capsules.
Keith McCullough, the COO of Workinman Interactive,
Blockchain presents the gaming world with an opportunity to compensate players for the time and effort that they put into playing games. It’s a chance for people to be financially rewarded for doing things they enjoy. We’re so happy to present the Mines of Dalarnia community with the ability to earn rewards while they play a game that they love.
Although the mainnet launch marks a significant feat in Mines of Dalarnia’s roadmap, Workinman Interactive has promised to continue expanding the Dalarnian world for years to come. The studio’s intermediate plans include launching a fully-featured marketplace and rolling out a mobile version of the game in Q3 2022.
