Spores Network, a full-stack NFT marketplace that features DeFi and interoperability tools, has teamed up with renowned US contemporary pop artist Todd Gray to launch an NFT. A press release disclosed this news earlier today, noting that the two parties announced this news during a private dinner graced by artists, crypto, and art executives.

According to the news release, all guests at the dinner party received a metacoin, which offers them exclusive access to the first work in Gray’s NFT collection dubbed World Wide Healing. The NFT series is set to drop before the end of the year on the Spores Network, which is considered one of the most promising NFT sites globally despite launching in July 2021.

Commenting on this partnership, Duc Luu, the Chairman of Spores Network, said,

We’re excited that Todd is the first American contemporary pop artist to be featured on our platform.

Explaining why Spores Network partnered with Gray, Luu noted that the artist is engrossed in his work and his love for art is contagious. He added that the company is lining up a retrospective series on its XRVR gallery for Gray to let him showcase his spectacular work and support the World Wide Healing campaign.

Bringing 35 years of art experience to the NFT space

Allen Dam, the Chief Content Officer at Spores Network, touted the partnership further, saying the entire team is enthusiastic about introducing a forward, ongoing, and positive voice to help a world in need.

Reportedly, Gray is well-known for his hard-edge graphics design in paintings and sculptures. He has been creating art for over 35 years, getting international recognition in 2018. The piece that made Gray international was Flabbergast, a 100-foot mural at the World Trade Center in New York. The artwork captivated tens of thousands of people, with some posing for pictures in front of the mural.

With the 20th anniversary of 9/11 approaching, Gray got an invitation to retouch his work.

Elated about the collaboration with Spores Network, Gray said,

I cannot escape my love for Pop Art. I never could. It’s part of my DNA. Powerful energy, clean lines and bright colors have been strong influences on my sculptural works and translate well into digital.

He added that his partnership with Spores Network would help him eliminate barriers and shares his passion for the contemporary pop art genre with an unlimited audience.

Jeff Lee, the Chief Art Curator at Spores Network, also supported the partnership with Gray.  According to him, it is delightful to see an artist of Gray’s stature join other contemporary artists like Jasper Wong, Carlos Luna James, Slick, and Tillavision in helping the company pioneer high-end curated art in the NFT space.
