  • Kohola is the latest environmental film bringing awareness to the ocean plastic pollution crisis
  • Untold focuses on impact-driven areas that educate, entertain, and inspire viewers to find solutions to real-world problems

Untold.io, the only SEC-regulated equity crowdfunding platform with a sole focus on content investments, has started raising funds for Kohola, the latest environmental film bringing awareness to the ocean plastic pollution crisis, Bankless Times learned from a press release.

The film was written and directed by Greg Reitman, an award-winning filmmaker, and produced by Blue Water, an independent production company.

Inspiring people to solve real world problems

Untold focuses on impact-driven areas that educate, entertain, and inspire viewers to find solutions to real-world environmental issues like the ocean pollution crisis. Its ecosystem places a priority on the SDG/ESG blueprint when it comes to assessing the impact area for a specific project.

Untold has truly democratized the film industry by letting accredited as well as non-accredited investors invest any amount they choose in films, removing big studio support from the equation.

Ali Aksu, the founder and CEO of Untold.io, said:

By 2024, the UN predicts that there will be more plastic than fish, which only begins to describe the gravity of the current ocean pollution crisis. We built our crowdfunding platform to support causes like this, and to provide a real opportunity for impact investment, and we’re pleased to bring more awareness and support at the United Nations General Assembly Week.

Tracking the history of plastic consumption

The film is named after its eponymous title character, a humpback whale and her family. The plot develops over the course of five years, tracing the history of plastic consumption in parallel to the effect on marine life in general. The film portrays the deterioration of life due to plastic pollution where ocean creatures once swam freely.

Kohola is a Hawaiian word designating reef flats as well. It could be connecting the whale’s blow’s spray to the waves on the reef.

About Untold

Untold plans to speed up the film’s production by allowing the general public to access investment opportunities. It provides a simple and secure way to invest via wire transfer, ACH, credit, or check as well as crypto in the near future.

The platform is an early Web3 adopter, giving investors multiple benefits, which include credit inclusion, premiere attendance, NFT merchandise, and more.
