  • The search engine has been trained on data from AP, CoinGecko, and the Hong Kong govt
  • IQ, the encyclopedia’s native token, incentivizes users to take part in project governance

Blockchain and crypto encyclopedia IQ.wiki has introduced a search function based on OpenAI’s ChatGPT to allow crypto users to search legitimate and verifiable sources according to a Thursday press release cited by CoinDesk.

Crypto firms are increasingly integrating AI

Crypto firms are integrating artificial intelligence (AI) functions in their products more and more often as this technology is appealing to venture capital companies and the general public. AI crypto is being embraced by industry stakeholders. Navin Vethanayagam of IQ.wiki told CoinDesk:

Reading through a 1,000 word encyclopedia entry to answer a question is difficult and time consuming for users, and the GPT-4 search engine solves that as users can simply ask a question. At the same time, by making information search easier, the search engine, called IQ GPT, helps fight misinformation and makes onboarding easier for new traders.

Trained on CoinGecko, AP data

IQ GPT has been trained on data from The Associated Press, cryptocurrency information platform CoinGecko, Hong Kong government’s InvestHK, Korean crypto news outlet CoinNess, DeFi content provider Flywheel, and IQ.wiki ‘s database of encyclopedia entries.

The search engine has consistent access to the above sources and also includes the original source to fight misinformation.

IQ.wiki, initially called Everipedia, got funding of $30 million from Galaxy Digital in 2018 and changed its name to IQ.wiki four years later. It began to publish exclusively crypto content at that time as well. In February, it became one of the first crypto projects to adopt AI.

IQ token incentivizes users to take part in the project

IQ, the project’s native token, incentivizes users to take part in project governance and in the project in general. IQ stakers can vote on governance decisions in the DAO managing the project.

Vethanayagam added that every member of the DAO would have some control over IQ GPT and any new services offered moving forward. IQ GPT will introduce more AI tools to enhance knowledge and education in the crypto industry next year, but there has been no mention of data protection.
