Legacy League is looking to launch as the premier NFT platform for college athletes, universities, alumni, and sports fans. The company unveiled this news through a press release on November 17, noting that it seeks to launch the first automated platform and marketplace that allows college athletes to create, mint, and sell NFTs seamlessly.

According to the news release, the marketplace will eliminate the burdensome crypto requirements to let buyers and sellers support athletes directly and securely. Legacy League claims its upcoming NFT marketplace will be the most-scalable platform on the market, seeing as it would allow athletes to create NFTs in under 10 minutes.

Reportedly, the marketplace features an automated wizard that eliminates all logos from their video highlights and photos to ensure compliance and eligibility.

Commenting on the launch of the marketplace, Legacy League’s co-founder, Stuart Bush, said,

Following the NCAA policy change, we are excited to offer college athletes an effortless way to monetize their NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) without using agents or paying licensing fees.

He added that Legacy League seeks to ensure athletes are the top beneficiaries of this opportunity, which offers them a chance to profit from their brand. Bush further noted that automating the marketplace ensures athletes take the bigger share of their NFT sales. This feature also provides athletes with better control over their NIL.

Streamlining the NFT experience

According to Legacy League’s website, the platform will create a seamless NFT experience for athletes by eliminating brokers, crypto wallets, licensing fees, and the need to secure the services of a graphics designer. On top of this, the marketplace would offer every user equal opportunity coupled with immediate access to their money whenever they sell an NFT.

The marketplace will run on a secure, eco-friendly blockchain that guarantees authenticity. Per Legacy League, the platform has already started attracting the attention of athletes, universities, and fans across the globe.

Reportedly, the marketplace is set to launch in 2022 and will support minting strategies like the release of individual athletes’ NFTs, as well as NFT packs of varying conferences, divisions, and sports. On top of this, Legacy League will support the minting of exclusive college NFTs.

The marketplace also stands to benefit from the vast experience that its founders, Bush and Kurt Hallead, have in financial markets, electronic trading, machine learning, and college sports.
