  • Cardano will educate the company’s 45,000 employees via Petrobras University
  • Petrobras is the largest corporation in South America, 2022 revenue was $125B

The Cardano Foundation announced a partnership with Petrobras, the Brazilian state-owned oil giant, to explore blockchain technology and provide education to the latter’s staff, Cointelegraph reported, citing a Dec. 20 announcement.

Cardano will educate the company’s 45,000 employees via Petrobras University. The education will involve looking at technology use cases in the energy sector. Petrobras is the largest corporation in South America, with its 2022 revenue standing at $124.7 billion.

Program started with metaverse workshops

The scope of the program will cover diverse blockchain use cases and applications. It launched with two workshops in the metaverse, during which Cardano’s educators drew attention to blockchain regulations in Brazil and worldwide.

Cardano Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard commented as quoted by Cointelegraph:

Our partnership with Petrobras—a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest public companies in the world—highlights both the appetite from enterprise for blockchain education as well as the growing reach of the Cardano Foundation and its mission. We are excited to partner with Petrobras and look forward to working with them, both to educate and to explore new use cases for blockchain technology.

First 500 participants will get NFTs as prizes

When participants complete the program, they will receive a certificate. That aside, the first 500 people to finish training will receive nonfungible tokens (NFTs) as presents, created in cooperation with the Petrobras Education Board. The unique NFTs will change dynamically to reflect each participant’s milestones and progress throughout the training, showcasing their achievements and serving as a retrospective digital tracker at the same time.

One key target – reached

Cardano revealed a number of key five-year targets in 2021, and this partnership aligns with one of them: enhancing its relationships with Fortune 500 companies. Other targets include expanding blockchain use cases to a wider range of industries and increasing diversity in blockchain activity.

The Cardano Foundation is dedicated to promoting and supporting the Cardano token and blockchain ecosystem. It plays a critical role in driving Cardano’s growth and development.
