In our newly expanded hunt for interesting ideas and concepts in alternative financing pitches, we've come across one that cuts many onions in the kitchen.
A woman working to serve those with physical challenges in life through a group called the Laura and Wagner Foundation needs help of her own: medical care for her guide dog who is fighting cancer.
She only has 12 days left in the Indiegogo campaign to raise the funds needed to help save Wagner, and help develop non-toxic treatments for people with cancer and other conditions. OK, who's cutting onions in here?
"As they prepared to expand the campaign globally via the Foundation’s Abled.com Initiative to create a complete ‘digital ecosystem’ for persons with special needs and chronic health conditions, life got in the way . . . in a very cruel way. And their mission has become an urgent one of survival. The consequences of medical negligence and domestic abuse saw Laura’s world ‘fade to black’ just as her devoted golden retriever, Wagner, the first Seeing Eye® guide dog in the Caribbean, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL), at the moment she needed him the most," their campaign states.
This is one of those situations that demands attention. If there was ever a story that should go viral and command a response, this is it.
Share this with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers, and get them closer to their goal.
We need to help the helpers so they can continue their great work.
